What does approval actually change?
An allowance is the amount a particular contract may spend from your token balance. The token standard treats permission and transfer as separate operations. Approval itself is not a payment to the seller, and it does not deliver the asset you want to buy. It can still cost BNB in network fees, called gas.
MAG7X is a BNB Chain token whose trading taxes help fund a stock-token reserve. On our trade desk, selling MAG7X authorizes Flap’s trading contract. Selling a supported stock token to the reserve authorizes the reserve contract. Those are different spenders.
What should I check in the wallet?
Check the network, token, spender and spending limit. Our desk requests the entered sale amount when the existing allowance is insufficient. An allowance left from an earlier approval may already cover it, so every sale does not necessarily need two transactions.
After approval confirms, the desk refreshes the quote. Review the new output and minimum received, then confirm the swap separately. An approval receipt proves permission was recorded; look for the swap receipt to confirm the exchange.
What if I approved but never sold?
The allowance remains until it is spent or changed. It is a spending limit, not tokens set aside: approving 100 permits cumulative spending of up to 100, subject to your actual balance.
Disconnecting a wallet does not erase that permission. To remove a remaining allowance, open Your token permissions on the desk, choose Check allowances, then the relevant Revoke control. Review and confirm the transaction in your wallet; it costs gas. These controls cover the MAG7X trading Portal and reserve, not every approval in your wallet.
Why is buying with BNB different?
Native BNB is the network’s coin, not an ERC-20 token needing an allowance. Flap’s trading interface passes native BNB with the purchase transaction. Buying MAG7X with native BNB therefore needs the purchase confirmation and enough BNB for gas, but no ERC-20 approval. Wrapped BNB is a separate token.
Can approval make a stock sale possible?
Only one part of it. Your balance is what you own; allowance is what the contract may spend; reserve capacity is what the vault can buy. Increasing one does not increase the others. A refreshed stock-sale quote checks the proposed amount against the reserve’s available buying budget before you continue.
